“I feel I have to speak about what is going on, and by speaking about it is the only way to draw attention to this “territorialism.” I believe that the way to progress is for leaders to help reeducate their employees and the people that look up them. I hope more leaders can join in by speaking out for change to inspire a new way of thinking about people of colour in fashion.” – Naomi Campbell on her blog
This isn’t anything odd. As a matter of fact, this issue has been brought to the forefront on more than one occasion and that is women and men of color in the fashion industry. Where in the world are they? Okay, they are there, however, for every one person of color in fashion there are thousands of people of not so color!

Naomi Campbell is pretty disappointed in this as well as many others. Remember that issue of Black Vogue? Okay so where are they now? Apparently and according to Naomi Campbell, there is a fear in fashion when it comes to putting black models up and the recession isn’t the best time for them, in their minds, to use any person of color in any ad campaign.
“Sadly, I don’t see enough black women, or of any other race in big advertising campaigns. As I have said before companies are not putting girls of colour in their campaigns especially in the panic of the recession.”- Naomi Campbell
Now that the Obama election is over, as this was one of the reasons behind the Black Vogue anyway, is the popularity of black now a short and fading fad? Great question for Naomi..see what she thinks.
