Donatella Versace Not Thrilled With Celebrity Fashions, Cindy Crawford Stunned With Celebs Modeling!

by admin on 04/19/2011

It’s a known fact now that times are much more difficult for the model or designer…well maybe not as much the designer as the model.  This is because celebrities are taking over!

For instance, the singer is taking over for the model in make up adverts and more!  As a matter of fact, there is a huge jump in celebrity fashion design.  Take Lindsay Lohan for instance – BOMB!  Scratch that one.  Let’s try Beyonce or Jessica Simpson, two female celebrities that have made, when adding things up together, billions in their fragrance and fashions atop their singing careers, no to mention their MODELING!

Both Donatella Versace and Cindy Crawford have something to say about the issues facing fashion and celebrities, and it’s not very good.  In an interview with Reuters, Donatella Versace all but said celebrity fashions are not for the long haul, but only trendy and somewhat cheap in comparison to real fashion designers that have something called true creativity.  WOW!  Notice though that Versace didn’t say ALL celebrity fashions, but she only said SOME, just to throw points on her side.

Next, it’s Cindy Crawford who is a bit stunned at that fact that celebrities are in ad slots that belong to models, according to NY Post.  One hated commercial is that Taylor Swift Covergirl one, and then there is Rihanna or Beyonce all over the screen with no real model background, only just basic being pretty and fan base-ish.  Love Covergirl, but the Taylor Swift commercial bites the dust as Taylor is such the expressionless model as one can get.  Her greatest attribute is popularity in the fashion department.

Rihanna and Beyonce are beautiful women but to have specific rules for the real model and then cast them under no rules…something is definitely wrong.  But yeah, whatever sells. Beyonce even modeled some Tom Ford, and was the highpoint of the magazines and blogs when she did it.  It was totally as if no one else waltzed that catwalk but her for TF.

When it all boils down to it, don’t hate the celebrity, hate the game.  The game is money.
